R. Advocate General
The Advocate General is the legal advisor to the state government in India, a position created by the Indian Constitution under Article 165. This role is comparable to that of the Attorney General for India at the national level.

Powers

- The Advocate General has the right to be heard in any State Court while performing his duties.
- While he can attend the State Legislature, he does not have the right to vote.
- He can also attend the meetings of any State Legislature Committee.
- He enjoys all the privileges that an MLA enjoys.

Functions and Responsibilities

- Advise the State Government on matters referred to it by the Governor.
- Perform the functions conferred on it by the Indian Constitution.
- Participate in the proceedings of the Houses of the State Legislature.
- Perform other legal duties assigned by the Governor.
