ii. Cooperation in Economic Sector
- The commercial relations between Sri Lanka and India are governed by the India-Sri Lanka Free Trade Agreement (ISFTA), signed on December 28, 1998, and entered into force on March 1, 2000.
- The ASEAN-India Trade in Goods Agreement (the “Agreement”) is a trade agreement between ASEAN’s 10 member countries (including Myanmar) and India.
- In April 1993, the seven SAARC member nations of India, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka signed the SAARC Preferential Trading Arrangement (SAPTA) Agreement.
