At present, we are witnessing a decline in the US’s global influence as China pushes forward with its agenda for global dominance. The arrival of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020 acted as a black swan event, disrupting globalization and supply chains. Additionally, Russia’s invasion of Ukraine has significantly impacted the current geopolitical landscape. This conflict has led to a clear divide, with one faction led by the US and another aligning with Russia and China.
While the world’s focus was largely on the Russia-Ukraine war, China began advancing its own objectives, particularly in efforts to reunify Taiwan with the mainland. Taiwan has now become a key point of contention between the US and China.
