1.4. Key Informations related to Bihar budget 2025-26 –
- The budget estimate of the annual scheme for the financial year 2025–26 is Rs. 1,16,750 crore.
- This is ₹16,750 crore more than the ₹1,00,000 crore estimated for the financial year 2024–25.

- The services sector (tertiary sector) remains the largest contributor to Bihar’s gross state domestic product (GSDP).
- The contribution of the services sector is 58.6%, followed by industry (secondary sector) with 21.5% and agriculture (primary sector) with 19.9%.
- The government will procure Moong, Urad, and Arhar pulses at the Minimum Support Price (MSP).
- According to the survey, the estimated growth rate of Bihar’s economy for the year 2025-26 is 8%.
- The share of planned expenditure in Bihar Budget 2025-26 is Rs. 1,16,759.60 crore.
- A Meteorological Centre will be built in Bhagalpur district of Magadh Division.
- Under the “Bihar Clean Air Transformation” project, a plan of ₹100 crore is being implemented to improve air quality in the state.
- A ‘Centre of Excellence’ for Jaggery will be established in Pusa (Samastipur).
- Help centers will be set up in various cities for migrant Biharis, and government support will be provided for home-stay facilities during Chhath Puja to promote tourism.
- Solar plants will be installed along the canal banks at a cost of Rs 25 crore.
- Under the Smart City Mission, funds have been allocated for the development of four cities in the state — Patna, Bhagalpur, Muzaffarpur and Bihar Sharif.
- The Bihar Forestry College and Research Institute (BFCRI) is being established in Munger district.
- Kundghat Reservoir Scheme will be constructed on Bahuar River for irrigation in drought-affected Sikandra block (Jamui), on which ₹185.21 crore will be spent.
- For disposal of agricultural and animal waste, Gobardhan unit has been constructed in 31 out of 38 districts.
- An industrial park is being built in Dobhi, Gaya, which will be a part of the Amritsar-Kolkata Industrial Corridor.
- Under the Bihar Film Promotion Policy 2024, financial grants of ₹2 to ₹4 crore are provisioned.
- Currently, the ‘List of Essential Medicines’ includes 611 types of medicines and 132 types of medical devices/consumables.
