1.3 Important Initiatives &Â Achievements-
- State government allocated Rs. 6065.50 lakh (2019-20 to 2022-23) for the Climate Resilient Agriculture Programme in 8 districts.
- Rs. 23,848.86 lakh (2020-21 to 2024-25) allocated for the remaining 30 districts under Climate Resilient Agriculture Programme.
- 10.5 lakh self-help groups have ‘Jeevika’ formed in Bihar by September 2023. These funds aim to combat climate change via practical strategies and technology demonstrations for farmers.
- Bihar IT policy was introduced in 2024 to propel investment and employment in IT/ITeS sectors and ESDM sectors.
- It offers several incentives to the investors and benefits like capital subsidy of 30% on high fixed investments, Lease rental subsidies, power tariff subsidy and others.
- Bihar ranked third in all india higher road density list in 2019.
- The number of electricity consumers in Bihar as on 31 March 2023 is 1.90 Crore.
- Under the Fourth Agriculture Roadmap (2023-2028), the Bihar government is implementing the Bihar State Jaggery Industry Promotion Programme, aiming to establish 405 jaggery units over the next five years.
- The highest percentage increase (78%)Â in the production of Sweet potato vegetables has been recorded in Bihar between the years 2020-21 to 2022-23.
- In Bihar, Highest producing vegetable is potato which is 87.84 lakh tonnes and the highest producing fruit is banana(20.04 lakh tonnes) in the year 2022-23.
- Five Krishi Karman awards have been awarded to Bihar for the achievement in the production and productivity for Rice, Wheat and Maize.
