Benefits & Important points—

• New technologies and modern agricultural equipment will be provided for more efficient cultivation of tea.
• The first installment will be given at the time of planting and the second installment in the next year if 90% plants survive.
• The scheme aims to increase farmers’ income by encouraging them to switch from traditional crops to tea.
• Under this, any farmer who has two acres of land will be given a subsidy of 50% of the cost of the machine and a maximum of ₹ 60000.

• Kishanganj is also known as “Darjeeling of Bihar” as it is the most famous district for tea production.
