The Nobel Prize in Physics in 2022 was awarded to the following three scientists –

1. Alain Aspect (France)
2. John A. Clauser (USA)
3. Anton Zellinger (Austria)

• They were awarded the prize “for experiments with entangled photons, establishing violations of Bell inequalities, and pioneering quantum information science”.
• Their results have paved the way for new technology based on quantum information.

Ales Bialiatsky

• Ales Bialiatsky is from Belarus who has received the Nobel Peace Prize in 2022.
• He has put efforts for the democratic movement human rights since 1980.
• There is no democracy even in Belarus and he has continuously been opposing them and that’s why he got the Nobel Prize.

Memorial

• The Memorial is an organization founded in 1987 during the Soviet Union and aims to preserve the memory of the victims of communist repression.
• After the Soviet disintegration, this organization has been working for human rights in Russia.
• That is why this organization of Russia got the Nobel Peace Prize.

Center for Civil Liberties

• The Center for Civil Liberties organization was founded in 2007 in Ukraine.
• From the very beginning, this organization stood firmly for human rights and democracy.
• After the invasion of Russia, this organization worked for the citizens of Ukraine and hence it also received the Nobel Peace Prize.

Sveriges Riksbank Prize in Economic Sciences in Memory of Alfred Nobel 2022

The Nobel Prize for Economics in 2022 was given to the following 3 American economists –

1. Ben Bernanke
2. Douglas Diamond
3. Philipp Dyvigo

• All these 3 award winners were awarded for research on banks and financial crises.
• The Nobel Prize in Economics began in 1968 and was first awarded in 1969.
